LILLYDALE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – RT. 971 in Lillydale is currently closed until further notice due to a fallen tree blocking both lanes, accompanied by downed power lines.

The situation has left the surrounding area, including Westside, without power, according to the Oceana Fire Department.

Emergency services, including Shentel, AEP, and WVDOH, have responded to the scene, though no estimated restoration times for power, internet, phone, or TV services have been provided.

AEP is currently reporting over 340 power outages in the Lillydale area.

There is no projected timeframe for the road’s reopening.

Westside High School has announced closure for the day.

It's a single tree, it should easily be cleared by two people in an eight hour shift piece of cake.
