FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department will soon have updated laptops for deputies thanks to a Local Economic Development Assistance grant presented by Delegate Elliott Pritt (R-Fayette).

The department was presented with the $7,000 check from the LEDA grant program today by Delegate Pritt.

These funds will be used to purchase new laptops for deputies.

Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley says that deputies utilize their laptops daily to write reports, write tickets, and monitor the calls coming through the county.

“We are glad to have such a strong relationship with our Delegates and Senators,” Fridley said.

Del. Pritt says he stands steadfast with local law enforcement.

“I am proud to stand by our local law enforcement and especially our county Sheriff and Deputies. These men and women deal with real evil on a daily basis, serve our courts, and keep our communities safe. We owe them more than we will ever realize,” Pritt said.

“This is a small gesture to show them that we care and that our local elected officials care about the work they are putting in and the sacrifices they are making day after day after day. We have to back the blue, and that is exactly what I am doing. This is my way of saying ‘Thank-you’ on behalf of my constituents. I know that is what they would want me to do.”

The presentation of this grant comes during National Police Week which celebrates the contributions of law enforcement.
