Concord Esports claims conference award

ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Concord Esports has been awarded the Easter College Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Cup Award.

The organization claimed victory on Monday, May 20, 2024, marking its first reception of the prestigious award.

“It’s a great honor for Concord Esports to receive this award. I know our players all have one thing in mind, being the best and rising to any challenge put in their path,” said Austin Clay, Program Director for Concord Esports. “We are excited to see our production team grow with the goal of hosting more local area network events at Concord for high schools, showcase matches, tournaments, and playoffs. Receiving this award is a great honor which recognizes the blood, sweat, and passion that Concord Esports has put in as a whole this year.”

Hundreds of schools across three NCAA Divisions participate in the Eastern College Athletics Conference, which has been active for 80 years.

The Eastern College Athletics Conference hosts a comprehensive esports program involving 160 schools and fielding 1100 distinct teams across over a dozen esports games. These stream four nights each week.

The organization, which this week awarded the Concord Esports program the Commissioner’s Cup prize, continues to expand the national footprint of the conference.
