At approximately 2:30 AM, deputies responded to a disturbance involving shots fired at the Cannelton Mobile Home Park.

Upon arrival, they found the couple on their porch with an empty holster visible on the banister.

The male, Zachariah Roat, admitted to firing a single shot into the woods following an argument with a neighbor.

While retrieving the firearm inside the home, deputies observed digital scales, plastic bags, and marijuana remnants in the bedroom.

They then sought consent to search the residence, but upon returning inside, the paraphernalia had disappeared.

A juvenile in the home revealed that his father had instructed him via text to hide the items. The subsequent search uncovered a substantial quantity of marijuana, packaging materials, and a large amount of U.S. currency.

Additionally, Zachariah Roat faces misdemeanor charges of Shooting Within 500 Feet of a Dwelling and Shooting Across a Public Roadway.

WV needs to catch up with the rest of the country and decriminalize Marijuana. I don't smoke myself but its far less harmful than even alcohol! crazy their still locking ppl up for it really!

schedule 1 for weed wow it must be laced with fentanyl or something I never heard of that one. I do know sometimes they do lace it. And why was a empty holster laying out in the open but the gun was in the house and all the goodies laying out? Had enough sense to hide the gun but nothing else not too smart
