    Fayette County man arrested after slapping sister, throwing chair at her

    GLEN JEAN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One Fayette County man has been arrested after slapping his sister and throwing a chair at her.

    According to a criminal complaint, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, police responded to a residence on Legends Highway in Glen Jean in reference to a domestic disturbance.

    Upon arrival, the victim told police that she and her siblings had equal ownership of the residence which belonged to her now deceased parents.

    She stated she arrived at the residence and immediately encountered her brother 57-year-old Michael Hunt of Glen Jean.

    The victim stated she believed that Hunt had been drinking.

    She then went inside the residence to work on cleaning when Hunt followed her into the kitchen where an argument ensued.

    The victim told police that Hunt open hand slapped her on the right side of the face knocking off her glasses.

    She stated she was carrying a step ladder which she used to keep Hunt away from her where Hunt then grabbed a chair and threw it at her before she could leave the residence and call 911.

    Police observed physical marks on the victim consistent with her statement.

    Hunt was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery 3rd Offense. He is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $15,000 bond.
