    Here’s what’s happening during day five of the State Fair of West Virginia

    FAIRLEA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The State Fair of West Virginia continues with a packed schedule on Monday, August 12th, offering a variety of entertainment, competitions, and demonstrations for fairgoers.

    The gates will open at 8:00 AM, and the carnival rides will begin operating at 11:00 AM, both continuing until 11:00 PM. The West Virginia Lottery will also open at noon, closing at 6:00 PM.

    Entertainment kicks off at 10:00 AM with the FirstEnergy Live Wire Demo near Heritage Garden.

    Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy various shows, including the Live Shark Encounter near Gate #4 at 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 5:00 PM.

    Fans of the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show can catch performances at 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM, and 6:30 PM at the Center of Grounds.

    The Hot Glass Academy will be demonstrating glassblowing skills near Gate #5 at multiple times, beginning at 10:30 AM and continuing through the day.

    Also, Catherine Hickland will entertain at the UScellular Center Stage at 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 4:30 PM, with the Lincoln County Cloggers performing at 12:30 PM, 3:30 PM, and 5:30 PM.

    For those interested in animal showcases, the Open Horse Show begins at 9:00 AM with the Draft Horse Halter Class, followed by Donkey & Mule Classes at 12:00 PM in the Bluegrass Bowl.

    Over at the West Virginia Building, fairgoers can enjoy a cooking demonstration at 10:00 AM, a 3-In-A-Pan contest at 11:00 AM, and another cooking demonstration at 2:00 PM.

    The day wraps up with the Savory Maple Competition at 4:00 PM.

    Additionally, fairgoers can explore the Butterfly Kingdom, open all day from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, located beside the WVU Building.

    The Live Shark Encounter Display will also be open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with two 30-minute breaks for the sharks at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM.

    Seether is set to perform at 8:00 PM on the Grandstand.
