BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – LL Flooring in Beckley and Parkersburg is set to close following a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.

LL Flooring Holdings, Inc., a leading specialty retailer of hard-surface flooring, has filed for voluntary Chapter 11 reorganization in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company plans to use the bankruptcy process to pursue a sale of its business while continuing normal operations.

Despite the filing, LL Flooring’s more than 300 stores across the U.S., as well as its online platform, remain open and operational.

The company is focused on maintaining its commitment to customers, offering a broad range of flooring products and services with minimal changes to store operations.

As part of the reorganization, LL Flooring has partnered with Hilco Merchant Resources, LLC, to assist with store closing sales at 94 of its locations.

Two of those locations include stores in Beckley and Parkersburg.

These stores will continue serving customers throughout the closing process.

Prior to the Chapter 11 filing, LL Flooring conducted a comprehensive marketing process for its business and certain assets, which garnered significant interest.

The company is in active negotiations with multiple bidders and aims to secure court approval for a sale within the first few weeks of the proceedings.

To support ongoing operations during the bankruptcy process, LL Flooring has secured $130 million in debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing from its existing bank group, led by Bank of America.

This financing, combined with revenue from continuing operations, is expected to provide the necessary liquidity for the company.

LL Flooring President and CEO Charles Tyson stated, “As we move through this process, we are committed to continuing to serve our valued customers, and to working seamlessly with our vendors and partners. I am appreciative of our associates for their ongoing hard work in providing the best experience for our customers.”

The company has also filed motions to ensure a smooth transition into Chapter 11, including requests to continue paying employee wages, maintaining healthcare benefits, and honoring customer commitments.

Customers can find updates on store operations and a list of locations conducting closing sales on LL Flooring’s website.
