    Joshua Cline named Concord Executive Director of Advancement

    ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Concord University announced on Tuesday that Southern West Virginia-native, Joshua Cline has been named Executive Director of Advancement for the university.

    Having grown up in Tazewell, Virginia and graduated among Tazewell High School’s class of 2005, Cline would go on to earn degrees from Bluefield University and Marshall University in Business Administration and Public Administration, respectively, before moving into the professional world of education administration.

    Cline has previously served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Marketing and Bluefield University and oversaw the completion of the university’s Centennial Campaign during his time there, raising over $25 million and managing the Crisis Management Team of the institution as well as facilitating marketing and branded initiatives for the university. He also served previously as Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Fund Giving for the institution for four years.

    He would also spend a significant period in leadership roles for local government and non-profit organizations, having served as Assistant City Manager for the City of Bluefield for four years and being acknowledged through a “40 under 40” designation for young leaders in the State of West Virginia.

    Cline would serve as President of the Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce and Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Interim President in 2017. In these roles he oversaw the merging of the two organizations to establish the Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias .

    In the higher education field, Cline has served as a member of Bluefield University’s Board of Trustees and Executive Committee as Chair of the Committee on Trustees. He currently sits on the board of WVU-Princeton Community Hospital, WV Read Aloud – Mercer County Board, West Virginia Planning Commission, Development Authority of Mercer County, and is a Westminster Presbyterian Church trustee.

    Joshua Cline is a resident of Bluefield, West Virginia and is married to local pharmacist, Dr. Peyton Morhous Cline, with whom he shares two children and a cocker spaniel.
