CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Rocky Horror Picture Show, recognized as the longest-running theatrical film release, is celebrating its 49th Anniversary with a national tour, including a stop at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of West Virginia on October 10.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet Barry Bostwick, the celebrated star of this cult classic. Bostwick’s memorable role as “Brad Majors” has captivated audiences for nearly five decades. He describes the movie’s lasting charm:

“It’s fun, noisy and rude and only exists today because of the dedicated fan base and incredible ‘shadow casts’ from around the world. They make it spectacular entertainment every show. It is nicely naughty! They bring the party. They invite you to participate. It’s rock and roll!” said Bostwick.

He emphasizes the film’s broad appeal across generations: “Three generations of partygoers have passed it down from one to another. It is a rite of passage from innocence to understanding and questioning!”

The event will also host a costume contest, a performance by the local Shadow Cast – Dr. X and the Beautiful Creatures – and a memorabilia display featuring items and costumes from the film. The Shadow Cast humorously enacts the movie on stage while it plays onscreen.
