FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia has announced a hearing to discuss the future of the Armstrong Public Service District after determining it to be a distressed utility.

An evidentiary hearing is scheduled for September 5 at Montgomery City Hall to assess the utility’s challenges and explore the possibility of another entity acquiring the system.

The Commission found issues with Armstrong’s sewer system, including financial, infrastructure, and management problems. Additionally, the Commission rejected a petition from Kanawha Falls Public Service District to acquire Armstrong, citing its own distressed status.

More details about this case can be found on the PSC website under Case No. 23-0934-PSD-DU.
