BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The co-branded WVU Tech and PCB debit card – the WVU Tech Affinity Debit Card – is now officially available.

The resource supports future and current generations of students navigating financial hardship, allowing them to continue the pursuit of their dreams.

PCB partnered with WVU Tech earlier this year to present the “Communiversity Campus ATM” which can be found at the WVU Tech Beckley campus.

Through the newly presented debit card, ten percent of interchange revenue and ten percent of campus ATM revenue will go toward supporting the William “Bill Benn Fund, which supports students impacted by economic difficulties during their educational journey.

Benn was a WVU Tech student studying civil engineering over half a century ago and was forced to depart from the institution due to financial hardship, intending to return but ultimately being drafted and enlisting as a member of the United States Marine Corps. There, he would be killed in action during a 1969 summer tour in Vietnam.

The WVU Tech Affinity Debit Card serves as a means of honoring the memory and legacy of Benn and ensuring that WVU Tech students have the freedom to attain an education after high school.

“We believe this is “Communiversity” at its best, and a way the entire community can financially support and promote WVU Tech by simply using this co-branded card for their day-today-purchases,” said PCB with regard to the card.

The full announcement as shared by the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce can be seen at the BRCC Facebook page .
