Case Dismissed alleging Domestic Violence against Prosecutor

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A final hearing was held today on a Domestic Violence allegation against Raleigh County Prosecutor Ben Hatfield .

Judge Harley Stollings, sitting in special assignment, heard the case. Stollings is a family court judge in Nicholas and Clay counties.

While the proceedings were closed to the public, as are all domestic violence proceedings, Hatfield and his attorney, Brandon Steele, emerged from the courtroom with a dismissal order in hand.

Attorney Brandon Steele released the following statement: “On behalf of my client, I would like to say that justice was served today, and the wrongful accusations against him have been extinguished by the crucible of our justice system. My client is a dedicated public servant, father, and husband. His only desire is to put this behind him, focus on his job of prosecuting crime in Raleigh County, and being a dedicated father and husband.”
