    ‘Authors and Appetizers’ inaugural event to be held in Danville

    DANVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Many of the most popular authors to emerge from West Virginia will come together next month for the inaugural “Authors and Appetizers” event.

    Scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2024, the event will be held at the Magnolia House Restaurant located at 630 Park Avenue in Danville, WV in Boone County.

    Authors appearing will be available to speak and meet with guests at the back-deck area of the restaurant. Guests will also be able to enjoy the “Book Lovers Buffet” which will contain an array of special dishes and desserts inspired by local authors.

    “We wanted to do something special and different for folks, where they can come by, maybe purchase an autographed book or two, sample our made-from-scratch Southern cooking, and meet these gifted authors in person to learn about their amazing stories,” said Head Chef and Owner of Magnolia House, Jennifer Smith. “It will be a bonanza of books and bites for everyone!”

    Dreama Denver will be the featured guest for the “Authors and Appetizers” event. Wife of late Gilligan’s Island star Bob Denver and a resident of Princeton, WV, Dreama Denver is a multi-award-winning author of the “Gilligan’s Dreams” memoir, as well as the acclaimed children’s book series, “Four Bears.”

    Additional writers expected to be in attendance for the “Authors and Appetizers event include Charleston author, Daniel Boyd, self-help author and country music singer/songwriter, Kate Boytek , Logan-based educator and children’s author, Angie Adkins, and many more.

    Desserts included and inspired by authors will include Mystery Minestrone and Meatballs, Sci-Fi Sliders, Kids Book Cookies, Romance Rolls, Poetry Parfaits, Horror Hummus, Suspense Salad, and more. Drinks featured will include Novel-Tea, Writer’s Roast Coffee, and Literary Lemonade.

    The all-you-can-eat “Book Lovers Buffet” will feature all soups, salads, appetizers, and drinks for $24.95 for adults and $19.95 for seniors. Children ages twelve and under will eat free at the event.
