BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – AccessHealth team members were joined by the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce on Friday for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new Access Health Women’s Clinic on Harper Road.

Many state and local leaders were in attendance for the proceedings including Raleigh County Commissioner Daniel Hall, Ward 5 Beckley City Councilwoman Janine Bullock, At-Large Beckley City Council Representative Sherrie Hunter, and many others.

Also in attendance was Alex Hewitt, representative from the Office of U.S. Senator Joe Manhcin, who delivered a Certificate of Recognition for the newly established facility.

“On behalf of Senator Manchin, I am here to present a Certificate of Recognition to AccessHealth for their untiring commitment and dedication to Women’s Health,” said Hewitt. “Care facilities such as this one enhance the quality of life of fellow West Virginians. Thank you all for your service to the Mountain State.”

“This is an amazing facility! This will be an example for other entities to do what AccessHealth has done, to bring healthcare together for women,” Hunter exclaimed. “Thank you so much to AccessHealth, the City of Beckley appreciates everything.”

AccessHealth members took time to acknowledge the exciting development as well, with Dr. Norman Siegel having expressed enthusiasm at the progress which will be made possible through the new AccessHealth Women’s Clinic.

“[It’s been] said that if you want things to stay the same, you’re going to have to make changes, and this has been a wonderful change,” said Dr. Siegel. “I am very grateful to AccessHealth for having been able to make this possible for our patients.”

AccessHealth President and CEO, Charles Hunt made note of the time and effort that went into the development of the facility, as well as the tireless efforts of the AccessHealth staff and faculty in serving the community.

“This is a special occasion for us, it’s been several years in the making,” said Hunt. “We believe that this is a critical resource for the community… We really just want to take care of the community and do a good job with that.”
