    Man arrested on weapon and drug charges following traffic stop

    WAYNE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested on weapon and drug charges following a traffic stop.

    Wayne County Sheriff Rick Thompson announced the arrest of a suspect on multiple weapon and drug charges following a traffic stop in the Fort Gay area.

    The Wayne County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle to apprehend a passenger with outstanding drug warrants.

    During the arrest, officers seized methamphetamine and fentanyl.

    As the stop was conducted, another passenger, Kyler Messer of Louisa, was observed attempting to hide items.

    A search revealed a significant quantity of methamphetamine, baggies, and fentanyl concealed in Messer’s underwear.

    Further investigation led to the discovery of five handguns, a suppressor, and multiple magazines in the trunk of the vehicle.

    A sum of U.S. currency was also seized from Messer.

    Messer now faces several charges, including Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, and five counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon under 21.

    Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
