Beckley ARH Hospital awarded accreditation from American College of Radiology

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Beckley ARH Hospital has announced that the facility has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in adult, cardiac, and pediatric computed tomography from the American College of Radiology Hospital.

According to ARH Hospital CEO, Todd Howell, the accreditation is significant in that it assists the facility in its efforts toward providing patients with effective, quality medical care.

“We are committed to ensuring that each CT scan has the highest level of image quality and is centered on patient safety,” Howell stated. “I am proud of our team and the work they do to ensure great care for our patients and the residents of southern West Virginia.”

Director of Ancillary Services at Beckley ARH Hospital, Lhea Mollette, notes that the facility is the only hospital in the region to receive accreditation in the pediatric CT field, stating that the award signals to patients that the facility can provide high-quality care close to home.

“Patients don’t want to and shouldn’t have to travel far from home for their medical care,” said Mollette. “We work hard to provide the best care possible for our patients and this accreditation shows that.”

CT Scanning – or CAT Scanning – helps physicians to diagnose and tailor medical treatment for various conditions through a non-invasive procedure.

The ACR Gold Seal of Accreditation is meant to represent the highest degree of image quality and patient safety. The seal is only bestowed upon facilities proven to have met specific standard requirements based on ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards following peer-review evaluation processes by board-certified physicians and expert medical physicians.
