    Kyle Busing, PhD, welcomed as newest Davis & Elkins associate professor

    ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Davis & Elkins has welcomed Kyle Busing, PhD, as Associate Professor of Exercise Science for the 2024-2025 academic year. Busing brings 25 years of direct field experience in college and university settings to the role.

    Having begun his postsecondary education at the University of Northern Colorado, Busing would earn a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology, and would continue toward the pursuit of a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy, in Kinesiology and Exercise Science and Sport Pedagogy, respectively.

    “Joining the Exercise Science faculty at Davis & Elkins College was exciting to me because I felt I was joining a community where passion for health and wellness meets a deep commitment to student success,” Busing said. “I also felt this community would support my love for the outdoors, allowing me to blend my professional expertise with a lifestyle that embraces nature and adventure.”

    Having taught multiple existing undergraduate courses, Busing has also played a significant role in the introduction and development of other courses. Over 25 publications and presentations at university, conferences, and conventions have recognized Busing’s work.

    “Dr. Busing is an experienced and accomplished faculty member and administrator who possesses a strong background in curriculum development, pedagogy and assessment,” said Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs for Davis & Elkins , Rob Phillips. “His ability to offer effective courses across the discipline and breadth of research and academic interests is an excellent fit for our growing Sport Science programs.”

    Busing’s interests in the realm of teaching comprise psychological components of behavioral change, self-regulated learning and attribution training, and statistics and research methods, along with others.

    Kyle Busing, PhD, previously served as Advisor, Member, and Director for various university committees and organizations for over a decade. He brings with him an array of leadership, advisor, director, and supervisor experience in community service.
