LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Former Chief Operating Officer for the Robert C. Byrd Clinic , Mary Page Nemcik will be taking on the role of Executive Director for the facility according to a recent announcement.

The not-for-profit, Lewisburg-based clinic – located on the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine campus – will now rely on the former COO for oversight and direction in all aspects of the clinic, including payor, provider, and vendor contract negotiation and implementation, as well as serving as liaison to the Robert C. Byrd Clinic Board of Directors.

“This is an exciting time of growth and change at the clinic,” said Nemcik of the development. “I’m surrounded by a team of talented providers and staff who are dedicated to serving our community, ensuring patients receive exceptional care and providing educational opportunities for resident physicians and medical students.”

West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine President, James W. Nemitz, Ph.D., spoke of the importance of the clinic with regard to the school and overall community.

“Besides its invaluable role in providing health care to the residents of Greenbrier County, the Robert C. Byrd Clinic is vital to the success of WVSOM, whose medical students gain important clinical experience there under the supervision of physicians,” said Dr. Nemitz. “I’m appreciative for the excellent leadership Mary Page will provide in her new position, helping to ensure the clinic is sustainable and successful in achieving its mission.”

Nemcik previously acted as Community Health Systems’ Director of Professional Outreach where she served both Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte and Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill. During her time as COO for the Robert C. Byrd Clinic, she worked to establish a positive work environment for staff and redesigned key work spaced to improve efficiencies.

WVSOM Chief Operating Officer and interim Chief Executive Officer, Drema Hill, Ph.D., expressed confidence in Nemcik’s selection for the role.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Mary Page Nemcik in the past months as we have stabilized and grown the Robert C. Byrd Clinic together,” said Hill. “Our patients are fortunate to have someone with her intelligence, kindness, and business sense at the helm of this patient-centered medical practice and teaching facility.”

“We’re grateful for our partnership with WVSOM, and I applaud the work that Dr. Hill and Mr. Meadows have provided during this time of transition,” said Mary Page Nemcik.
