CLAY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman has been arrested after breaking into multiple mobile homes.

According to a criminal complaint, on the evening of Monday, August 26, 2024, at approximately 5:30 PM, local authorities received a call from Clay County 911 reporting a series of break-ins at several mobile homes near 1550 Lower Sycamore Road.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with several residents who confirmed that their homes had been burglarized over the past few days, with multiple items reported stolen.

The burglaries affected several households, including a camper belonging to one resident, which showed signs of forced entry through the back access panel.

Another camper had its doors and locks forcibly broken.

Video footage obtained by the police revealed a suspect, identified as 31-year-old Evelyn Petry, forcibly removing an air conditioning unit from one of the homes and subsequently entering the residence to steal various items.

The footage also showed another individual, identified as Billy Booth, entering the same home through a window.

Just before arriving at the scene, an officer observed Ms. Petry near Upper Sycamore Road, where she was seen getting into a white Chevrolet Tahoe.

The officer located and arrested Ms. Petry shortly thereafter. She has been charged with four counts of burglary and one count of conspiracy.

She is currently at Central Regional Jail on a $30,000 bond.
