SMITHERS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Woman arrested after refusing to stop trespassing in a small town of Fayette County.

On August 31, 2024, Deputy Sheriff R.T. Gunnoe of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call about a reported burglary at 84 Ferris Drive in Glen Ferris, West Virginia. Upon arrival, he contacted the homeowner and the suspect, Ms. Samantha Foster.

Ms. Foster appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance, exhibiting erratic behavior such as flailing her arms, screaming incoherently, and being unsteady on her feet. The homeowner stated that she had found Ms. Foster inside her home, rummaging through her belongings. The homeowner told Ms. Foster to leave, which she did, but she remained in the driveway.

After speaking with the homeowner, the deputy advised Ms. Foster to leave the property and not return, as she was being trespassed. Ms. Foster attempted to approach a neighboring residence, but the deputy prevented her. When he asked if she had a place to stay, Ms. Foster said she did not have a residence or friends to go to.

He ordered Ms. Foster to leave the area and stay away from the homes. She began laying on the cars in the driveway, and he had to instruct her to move away from the vehicles. As he was leaving the scene, he observed Ms. Foster approaching another trailer down the road and attempting to throw herself against the wall.

He was later called back to the original residence, as Ms. Foster had returned. The deputy found her on the porch of the neighboring house, still exhibiting unusual behavior. When he ordered her to put down an unopened can of Mountain Dew she was holding, she refused and continued drinking aggressively. The deputy removed the can from her hand and arrested her for disorderly conduct and trespassing.

During transport to the sheriff’s department, Ms. Foster repeatedly kicked the rear seating compartment of the patrol car despite my orders to stop.  She was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct.
