The vehicle, driven by 46-year-old Joseph W. Cubbison of Coolville, Ohio, accelerated to an estimated speed exceeding 100 mph in a 65 mph zone as it headed toward the I-77 intersection.

The deputy attempted to catch up to the vehicle, activating emergency lights to make a traffic stop.

After a brief pursuit, the vehicle slowed down and came to a stop.

Upon making contact with Cubbison, he explained that he was late for an appointment and had mistaken the deputy’s vehicle for another car.

Cubbison was issued a citation for speeding, clocked at 120 mph in a 70 mph zone.
