    Lost Pyrenees rescued near Sandstone Visitor Center

    SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Great Pyrenees that had been spotted near the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve Sandstone Visitor Center has been safely captured by a group of dedicated volunteers.

    According to the Summers County Humane Society, as of 6 PM on September 13, 2024, the dog is now under the care of Summers County Animal Control in collaboration with the humane society.

    The dog had been hanging around near the visitor center for a number of days resulting in posts on social media from concerned park visitors.

    At the time of this writing, an owner has not come forward to claim the dog.

    The humane society has confirmed that the Pyrenees will receive all necessary medical care.

    Oh thank goodness I have a Great Pyrenees I would absolutely die if I lost her she's my baby a big baby but my baby I hope they find her family or she gets a loving new one
