HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — An altercation on Fox Run Drive in Summers County led to the arrest of a local resident on charges of wanton endangerment involving a firearm. Law enforcement responded to a trespassing complaint and reports of gunfire at 61 Fox Run Drive.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities made contact with the victim.  According to the Victim, he had been retrieving his belongings from the property with the permission of Tracie Helen Trent, hereinafter referred to as the Accused. However, the situation escalated into a heated argument.

The Victim reported that during the dispute, the Accused went inside the residence and returned with a shotgun. As the Victim attempted to leave the property, the Accused allegedly shouted at him, yelling, “Bring it on,” before discharging the shotgun in the Victim’s direction. The Accused then reloaded the firearm and allegedly threatened the Victim again, stating, “You got about ten seconds before I pull the [expletive] trigger again.”

The Victim quickly left the property and waited down the road for law enforcement to arrive. Shortly after, a witness provided officers with a video of the incident, which clearly showed the Accused pointing and firing the shotgun in the direction of the Victim.

Based on the evidence, the Accused was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment involving a firearm. She was transported to the West Virginia State Police Barracks in Hinton for processing before being transferred to the Southern Regional Jail, where she awaits arraignment.

The investigation remains ongoing, with all events occurring at Fox Run Drive, Hinton, WV.
