    Salvation Army seeking funds to assist 55-year-old Mercer County resident with liver transplant

    PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Salvation Army Mercer County Corps has announced a financial need to assist a Mercer County resident with a desperately needed liver transplant.

    55-year-old Carol Pendergrass of Mercer County is scheduled for a much-needed liver transplant in the Pittsburgh area on September 26, 2024. However, Pendergrass will be required to remain for several weeks in the Pittsburgh area and will be required to presenting payment for food and housing prior to the surgery.

    The Salvation Army has stated they were contacted regarding the financial need, and the organization has committed to assisting in raising the $2100 for housing and $400 for food which will be required up front before the necessary surgery can be performed.

    Salvation Army Mercer Corps Administrator, Sergeant Melissa White has encouraged those who are able to help to provide tax-deductible contributions to The Salvation Army earmarked for Pendergrass Financial Assistance.

    I had a liver transplant about a year ago.who do you have your insurance trough.i had Medicare and they paid for my hotel for a month.Only thing I had to pay out of pocket was food.i pray everything works out for you.God will provide.
