    Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Opens 2024 Costume Vault for Halloween

    RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh County Parks and Recreation has officially announced the opening of the Costume Vault for the 2024 Halloween season, providing free costumes to children across the county. The initiative aims to ensure that every child has the opportunity to dress up for Halloween, promoting imaginative play and creative development.

    According to Raleigh County Parks and Recreation, Halloween is more than just a fun holiday—it’s a chance for children to engage in creative play that fosters important developmental skills. Whether kids dress up as superheroes, princesses, or their future career aspirations, dressing up encourages imaginative thinking and communication skills. “We want all kids to have the opportunity to dress up for Halloween,” the organization stated.

    The Costume Vault is open to all children, offering a wide selection of new or gently used costumes in various sizes, ranging from spooky to non-spooky options. Each week leading up to Halloween , the Costume Vault will be available at different locations across Raleigh County.

    Costume Vault Locations and Dates:

    • Raleigh County 4-H Camp (200 Martin St., Daniels, near Little Beaver State Park)
      • October 6th, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
      • October 7th and 8th, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
    • Lake Stephens Pavilion (1400 Lake Stephens Rd., Surveyor)
      • October 14th and 15th, 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
    • Dry Hill Prosperity Park (191 Mollohan Dr., Beckley, off Dry Hill Road)
      • October 19th, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
      • October 21st and 22nd, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

    In addition to offering costumes this year, Raleigh County Parks and Recreation will also be collecting donations for next year’s Costume Vault at each event location and partnering sites throughout November. Donations can also be dropped off year-round at any Raleigh County Parks and Recreation office.
