CABELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A caregiver has been arrested for kicking an incapacitated adult , which led to the wound needing to be lanced and drained.

On the evening of February 28, 2024, Jason Clement, acting as a caregiver, was charged with assault after allegedly injuring a victim outside St. Mary’s Hospital, located at 2900 1st Avenue. According to reports, Clement kicked the victim in the right leg, causing a large blood blister to form.

Following the incident, Clement allegedly withheld medical treatment from the victim for a short period, pressuring her to promise not to report him. The victim’s injury eventually required medical intervention, with a scalpel used to lance the wound and drain the fluid. The procedure left the victim with a permanent scar, and she may require a skin graft in the future.

Clement is facing charges, and the case remains under investigation. Further details regarding court proceedings and potential sentencing have not yet been released.

The article seems to read that this happened outside of St Mary’s and this person was acting as a caregiver. I take this as they were not trained or employed by the hospital but were more like a friend or relative of the victim. Abuse is abuse and he needs punished!!

you got to have control but as a CNA of over 10 years I understand the job gets to you it gets very aggravating because you don't have help or you're not in the click and everybody wants to run to a smoke break leaving you to take care of the whole floor it's just not right I get it but you still have to have restraint
