WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Man charged with arson after admitting to squatting and then setting fires to two buildings he believed had no real value.

On September 9, 2022, Kenneth Sasser Jr. was observed at the scene of two separate structure fires at 520 Camden Street in Parkersburg , Wood County, with ash and soot on his hands and body. Despite initially denying involvement in either incident, multiple witnesses placed Sasser inside the building at the time of the fires.

During an interview with Sgt. Cochran, Sasser admitted to squatting and living in the structure and confessed to starting several intentional fires that caused significant damage to the building. He reportedly told authorities that he believed the building had no real value.

    Sasser is currently in jail.

No regard for what doesn’t belong to him. Who’s he to say a building or property has no value? Maybe the squatter arsonist is the one with no real value.

Homeless are reportedly doing this as "turf wars." It makes no sense when they burn the buildings they stay in.
