CABELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A former employee of Midkiff Asset Management LLC is facing serious accusations after allegedly causing extensive damage to his apartment following his termination.

According to the complaint filed, Robert Lee Hawks Jr., who served as a maintenance worker for the company, was fired on October 8, 2024.

The defendant, who resided in Green Tree Apartments, a property owned by the company, reportedly began destroying the apartment between October 8 and October 10. The company claims Hawks caused over $10,000 in damages, targeting both the inside and outside of the apartment.

The alleged destruction includes broken doors, shattered windows, a damaged porch light, intentional holes in the drywall, and a microwave with a shattered glass door. In addition, the front door was reportedly damaged by multiple stab marks from a knife. The defendant also tampered with the outside air conditioner, rendering it inoperable.

According to the complaint, the damage was inflicted out of retaliation for being fired. The destruction extended to property that did not belong to the defendant, with substantial losses reported by the company.

Hawks faces charges of destruction of property and disorderly conduct.
