    Inmate escapes from USP Hazelton satellite camp

    BRUCETON MILLS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Roger Austin, a 53-year-old inmate at the satellite camp adjacent to the United States Penitentiary (USP) Hazelton, was discovered missing on Monday, October 14, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m.

    Austin is described as a White male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 218 pounds.

    Law enforcement agencies, including the United States Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, were immediately notified.

    An internal investigation into his disappearance is underway.

    Austin was serving a 255-month sentence from the Eastern District of Michigan for multiple offenses, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, drug trafficking, and carrying a firearm during a trafficking crime.

    The satellite camp at USP Hazelton is a minimum-security facility.

    The guy is serving a 255 month sentence and is in a minimum security camp? Somebody needs to lose their job.
