ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Concord University has announced the 31st Annual Concord Business Challenge, which will be hosted by the Concord University Department of Business.

The event provides junior and senior students from high schools throughout West Virginia to showcase their business skills in a competitive environment. This is attained by allowing competitors to participate in a variety of academic competitions pertaining to skill set areas such as economics, computer applications, accounting, business communications, finance, marketing, management, business math, and hospitality.

First, second, and third place winners will be announced for each challenge competition held as part of the event, which is scheduled to take place beginning at 8:30am on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

Chair of Concord’s Department of Business, Dr. Allison Bean has expressed enthusiasm at the upcoming competitive event.

“For 30 years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting the Concord Business Challenge. As we prepare for our 31st annual event this fall, we’re thrilled to welcome talented juniors and seniors from across West Virginia and Virginia to our campus. We’re proud to continue the tradition of supporting the next generation of business leaders who will shape our economic future and we look forward to seeing the innovative thinking and skills these young minds will bring to our campus in October.”

Participating students will be recognized during an awards ceremony which will be held at 12:00pm. Overall school winners will be announced during the ceremony along with the award of twelve scholarships ranging in value from $1,000 to $4,000. The top two participants will qualify for a scholarship to be awarded over eight semesters up to $4,000.
