LEWIS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic dispute lands two people in jail after destroying property and lying.

On October 6, 2024, officers from the Weston Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance in Weston, West Virginia. Upon arrival, law enforcement was informed that both parties involved in the incident had left the scene and were walking along the highway. The individuals, identified as Chance Marple and Faith Carder, initially denied any altercation.

While being questioned, the pair claimed that another individual, Howard Marsh, had been driving a vehicle involved in an accident, hitting a pole and a fence. However, a witness reported that Marple and Carder were seen arguing, striking each other, and were both inside the vehicle when it reversed downhill, damaging a telephone pole and a section of the witness’s fence. These claims were corroborated by another witness.

Upon investigating the vehicle, officers discovered that the registration plate did not match the car, and no insurance documentation was found. Additionally, it was revealed that Marple had a history of driving with a suspended license, with prior convictions in 2023 and 2024, as well as a domestic assault conviction from 2023.

Both Marple and Carder have been charged with domestic battery, destruction of property, providing false information, and conspiracy. Marple faces additional charges of driving with a suspended license, no insurance, and improper registration. The estimated damage to the fence is valued at approximately $220.

The incident escalated when Marple, after being informed of the charges by officers, called the police station and threatened to “handle this my way” before ending the call abruptly.
