I-94 Project Between Monticello and Albertville Starts Soon
MONTICELLO (WJON News) -- A long-awaited road construction project in central Minnesota is getting started next week. The Minnesota Department of Transportation will start the three-year expansion of Interstate 94 between Albertville and Monticello. The I-94 Gap project will expand the interstate to six lanes, three in each direction, to close the gap along that corridor.
Hero Dad Dies in Rip Current Saving Children
(Elk River, MN) — The body of a man who went missing in the Mississippi River near Elk River on Friday has been recovered. Forty-one-year-old Cody Pope’s body was found yesterday morning, according to the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office. According to reports, Pope jumped into the river Friday when his son and daughter began struggling in the current. Pope was able to get both children to safety but went under the water and wasn’t seen again until his body was discovered yesterday.

A new survey is launched asking people a number of questions, including if you own or plan to buy an EV, how many miles you drive a day, barriers to owning an EV, and where you think EV fast charging stations should be placed.

MINNEAPOLIS — Brace for more rain and storms on Monday in parts of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities.A tornado warning for Kanidyohi, Renville and Chippewa counties has expired. The National Weather Service said radar-indicated rotation prompted the warning. A few storms will roll over southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Monday afternoon, with a low severe threat for wind and hail.During the dry time on Monday, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds. It'll be a hot and humid day with highs in the mid-80s. High pressure and cooler temperatures will move in for the remainder of the week, with some really nice days coming our way with highs in the 70s, low humidity and sunshine.Outside of some passing showers on Tuesday, it appears that we stay dry for the next few days. We'll return to the 80s this weekend.Weekend storms brought large hail and strong winds to parts of the state, leading to downed trees, power outages and other types of storm damage.
