Devastating flooding inundated homes and businesses and infrastructure. The assessment is $14 million in damage. There are more challenges than just rebuilding, too. If roads are out, getting emergency services to those who need it can be a problem."Identifying who has needs. Who's in a wheelchair, who has current medical needs, do they want to leave? Jury finds man guilty of murder in fatal shooting over $20
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A Hennepin County jury found a man guilty Thursday after a dispute in September over $20 led to a fatal shooting. Kenneth Joel McKinnis, 39, was convicted of second-degree murder for fatally shooting 27-year-old Curtis Johnson on Sept. 26 near a homeless encampment at the intersection of 16th Avenue South near East 24th Street.
Man charged with arson in Hennepin County now charged in federal district court
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The man charged in connection with an Eden Prairie house fire earlier this year now faces federal charges, according to recently filed court documents. Abdullahi Abdi Abdullahi Jr., of Eden Prairie, was charged in Hennepin County in June with first-degree arson after prosecutors said he set his ex-girlfriend's house aflame in May with several people — including four children — inside. The federal indictment shows Abdullahi Jr. now faces an additional count of arson causing injury after a 9-month-old baby was rescued from the fire by emergency crews in critical condition.
