Raid of Twin Cities woman's home yields thousands of illegal pull-tabs, scratch-offs
MINNEAPOLIS — A Twin Cities woman faces dozens of felony charges after authorities say a raid of her residence yielded thousands of illegal pull tabs, scratch-offs and other games.The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says its new Financial Crimes Unit was able to track down the woman they say was accepting illegal bets on Facebook. The sheriff's office says an individual stack of cards shown in the image above represents a single game with identical serial numbers. Ten of those games equal a single felony charge. Deputies also seized a "rifle and handgun with an extended magazine that were easily accessible to multiple young children in the home."Authorities didn't disclose her identity or the location of her residence.

Heat and humidity ratchet up this weekend in the Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS — Plenty of sunshine is back on tap Friday in the Twin Cities, with heat in the upper 80s and heat indices in the low 90s.Some upper-level energy passes to our north this weekend, bringing back isolated storm chances, but the warmth and mugginess remain. We warm even more to the low 90s Saturday through Monday with heat indices closer to 100. This would be our first 90-degree day of the year.Some storms may be strong and severe on Saturday, with a level 2 out of 5 risk, but the weekend is still largely dry.A stray storm is possible again on Monday, but less likely on Tuesday and beyond as we cool back down closer to 80.

Firefighters to Honor Former Eden Prairie Fire Captain, Lowell Lund at Memorial Services Today (Friday) in Buffalo
Firefighters are expected to honor a longtime Eden Prairie man at services today (Friday) in Buffalo. Lowell Lund, Sr. of Montrose, passed away July 7th at the age of 85. Lowell was a veteran of the U-S Air Force, and was a firefighter and Captain for the Eden Prairie Fire Department for 32 years.
