Contact Community Services announced two promotions. Stephanie Grandjean has been promoted to division director of crisis services. Joining Contact in September 2013, she has played a significant role in supporting the operational and financial aspects of several key programs including 988, 211, Crisis Connect, and 911 co-location. She is a certified instructor in mental health and suicide prevention programs. A Syracuse University alumna, she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public health at Eastern Washington University. Acquitted Arson Suspect Sues Fire Department
A woman who was acquitted of arson charges last year for a fire that occurred in 2022, has filed suit against the Binghamton Fire Department and several law enforcement agencies that she claims were responsible for her malicious prosecution and fourteen months of incarceration. Marquetta James filed suit in US District Court for the Northern District of New York naming six entities and seven named individuals as defendants.
Carr Gets His First Win at Phoenix Bass Fishing League Event at St. Lawrence River
MASSENA, N.Y. (July 22, 2024) – Boater Ethan Carr of Massena, New York, caught a five-bass limit weighing 24 pounds, 10 ounces, Saturday to win the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) Presented by T-H Marine on the St. Lawrence River. Hosted by the Town of Massena, the tournament was the second event of the season for the BFL Northeast Division. Carr earned $3,335 for his victory.
