Following Homeland Security raids on properties owned by Combs in Miami and Los Angeles on Monday, March 25, his attorney, Aaron Dyer, has provided a statement indicating he plans to fight against the searches led by government investigators, calling them an "unprecedented ambush" and a "witch hunt."

“Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences,” Dyer wrote. “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities."

"Despite media speculation," Dyer continues, "neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way. This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits. There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”

Combs has recently been hit with a number of sexual assault allegations, including R&B singer Cassie ’s claim last year filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act , that Diddy was a "serial domestic abuser," only for her lawsuit to be settled quickly and "amicably." Another filed in late 2023 alleged that Combs and others drugged, transported, and sexually assaulted a minor 20 years prior, which brought along the latest accusations of a “sex trafficking scheme.”

For his part, the 54-year-old rapper has called the reports “sickening” saying on social media , “Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth."

Homeland Security confirmed their activity in a statement on Monday saying, “Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners."
