Urbane Cafe is slated to open several new locations throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties over the next year-and-a-half, according to a representative for the brand. The company-owned chain will be open in West Covina , Studio City and Santa Clarita by year’s end. They are also planning stores in Long Beach (Bixby Village and LBX) , Ranchos Palos Verdes , Simi Valley (Tapo Canyon) and Torrance for 2025.

Owner Tom Holt started Urbane Cafe in 2003 out of a desire to bring gourmet sandwiches and salads to the Ventura market.

“He understood that every great sandwich starts with the freshest of bread, so he designed the cafe around a hearth oven. Working with his friend Pete, they came up with a bread recipe that was soft, delicious and baked right in front of your eyes. It didn’t stop there though, he created a menu centered around locally sourced ingredients, house-roasted meats, and crafted sauces to give each creation its own unique flavor,” says their website .

Urbane makes its bread and sauces from scratch and uses local ingredients that are delivered daily.

Signature sandwiches and salads include the Pastrami Tri Tip with swiss cheese, remoulade aioli, housemade apple coleslaw, bread and butter pickles; and the UC Banh Mi with roasted chicken, cilantro, cucumbers, pickled carrots, fresno chilis, pickled white radish and sweet chili aioli; The Ahi with sashimi grade seared ahi and served with Japanese chili dressing; and the Keto Cobb with chopped salad mix, mixed greens, avocado, eggs, grape tomatoes, pickled onions, Applewood-smoked bacon, and keto blue cheese dressing. They also serve a variety of bowls, soups, and assorted chips and desserts.

Urbane Cafe currently has more than 30 open locations throughout SoCal and Las Vegas.
