The Fourth of July is almost a week away!

While many already have their plans set, those looking for a last-minute destination celebration will want to head to one of a few cities recently ranked the best in the country to celebrate Independence Day.

According to a new report from WalletHub , 87% of Americans are planning on doing some form of celebration this year as they get ready to honor the stars and stripes.

However, while the Declaration of Independence might say that all men are created equal, WalletHub’s report doesn’t agree that every city’s celebration is.

The survey found that the best city to celebrate the Fourth of July is Los Angeles, California.

“Los Angeles is the best city for Fourth of July celebrations, in part because it is easy to prepare for a Fourth of July bash with the second-most party supply stores per capita, plus the city has great walkability in addition to a multitude of other recreational activities to enjoy on the day off,” WalletHub analyst Cassandra Happe said in a statement.

Coming in behind LA on the list was New York City in second, followed by Seattle, Washington; Las Vegas, Nevada; Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Francisco, California; San Diego, California; Washington, D.C.; St. Paul, Minnesota; and St. Louis, Missouri rounding out the top 10.

When considering where to rank the nation’s largest 100 cities, WalletHub took into account that 60% of Americans were looking to spend less money than last year on their celebrations.

“60% of Americans plan to spend less money on the 4th of July this year compared to last year, according to WalletHub’s latest survey, which shows that inflated prices for food, travel, and other holiday staples are making people rethink their plans,” Happe said.

With this in mind, researchers used 18 key metrics that ranged from the average price of beer and wine, duration of fireworks shows, weather forecasts, and more.

“The best cities for the holiday help you make the most of your day, with affordable food options, good weather, fun recreation choices, and long, spectacular fireworks shows,” Happe said.

Other notable cities in the report’s top 20 included Orlando, Florida, at 11; Chicago, Illinois, at 15; Denver, Colorado, at 1; and El Paso, Texas, at 19.

Among the other findings highlighted in the report included inflation impacting 3 in 5 people’s plans this year, only 61% of Americans feeling financially independent right now, and nearly two-thirds of Americans thinking the founding fathers would not be happy with our current economy.

When asked what they would like to declare independence from, respondents chose social media (27%), credit card debt (27%), and overeating (23%).
