Multiple people could be charged for Matthew Perry 's death as the ongoing investigation nears conclusion.

According to People , law enforcement now believe that numerous individuals played a role in the death of the beloved Friends star. Officials have yet to reveal names of suspects that "should be charged," but it is known that the U.S. Attorney's Office will decide "whether or not to press charges" at a later date.

Perry passed away on October 28, 2023, at his home in Los Angeles due to the acute effects of ketamine. The late actor's death was initially ruled "accidental," and the case was closed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner the following month. It was not until May 2024 that the LAPD decided to reopen the case and investigate the source of the ketamine that led to Perry's passing.

The Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir author was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy to ease symptoms of anxiety and depression at the time of his death, but (as officials discovered months after his passing) the ketamine found in his system during the autopsy was not associated with the infusion therapy.

All that is currently known of the possible suspects is their reputation of being "key people in Hollywood who are known to have a history of drug use or abuse," per TMZ . No arrests have been made as the public await a decision from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
