Brenna Huckaby from U.S. Para Snowboard Team Nominated for 2024 ESPY

The 2024 ESPY nominations have been announced, and Brenna Huckaby of the U.S. Para Snowboard Team is headed to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to celebrate her successes. She has been nominated in the ‘Best Athlete with a Disability’ category. The ESPY Awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of Sports," honor the finest in athletics and will be held in downtown LA on July 11, 2024.

This year's nominees include some of the most acclaimed athletes in their respective sports, such as Olympic champion Simone Biles, WNBA star Caitlin Clark, NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and more. Last year, Mikaela Shiffrin of the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team won the title of “Best Athlete in Women’s Sports,” becoming only the second skier to receive an ESPY. Additionally, Zach Miller of the U.S. Para Snowboard Team earned his first ESPY for 'Best Athlete with a Disability.'

Huckaby stands out as a nominee, being a three-time Paralympic gold medalist and a five-time World Champion. After losing her right leg to cancer at age 14, she was introduced to para snowboarding and has since risen to the top of the sport, becoming a prominent advocate for disability rights.
