The 2024 NBA draft is behind us, and as expected, Bronny James is a Los Angeles Laker likely signaling LeBron James returning to the team next season. Bronny, alongside first-round pick Dalton Knecht , have certainly given Lakers' fans a lot to look forward to, and it won't be long before they get to see both players in action.
The sixth annual California Classic Summer League is right around the corner, giving fans their first opportunity to see both players in gold and purple. League play starts on July 6 and for the first time ever, it will be held in two different locations.
The California Classic Summer League will begin play on July 6 and ends on July 10, featuring NBA rookies, sophomores, and G League affiliate players.
Six teams – Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers – will compete during this stretch, with 12 total games being played in either Sacramento and San Francisco.
Lakers California Classic Summer League Schedule:
July 6 @ Sacramento, 4:30 p.m. ET
July 7 v. Golden State, 6:30 p.m. ET
July 10 v. Miami Heat, 7 p.m. ET
NBA 2K25 Las Vegas Summer League
After those games are played, the NBA 2K25 Summer League will kick off on July 12 and will go through July 22. Not much else is known about the tournament's schedule though.
We do know that all 30 teams will be in attendance and that each team will play at least four games during the 11-day tournament. The top four teams will compete in a playoff to determine the Summer League Champions afterward.
