The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a car fire just after 3 a.m. at the intersection of Main and 18th Streets.

As arriving LAFD crews were approaching the scene, their path was blocked by dozens of vehicles participating in a street takeover. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division patrol units responded and cleared out the area for the firefighters.

Once LAFD entered the scene, they located two vehicles in the intersection fully-engulfed in flames with unknown materials detonating in the fire.

The fire was extinguished in approximately 10 minutes.

According to Officer Im, spokesperson for the LAPD, no arrests were made and it does not appear any vehicles were impounded.
