Four-star St. Louis (MO) Christian Brothers wide receiver Corey Simms announced his commitment to USC on Sunday.

“Coach (Dennis) Simmons said they’re gonna throw the ball, they have great academics, a great support system and It feels like home,” said Simms. “And it’s not really that cold here in the winter. When I was there in the winter, they said that’s the coldest it gets there. It’s amazing.”

Although USC didn’t offer Simms until late January, USC WRs coach Dennis Simmons visited Christian Brothers and established a solid relationship.

Simms took his first visit to USC in early February when he was playing for California Power in a Los Angeles area 7v7 event. He returned to USC June 7-9 official visit and talked about the impact the visit had on him. How the visit helped USC with their chances to sign him.

“This weekend was an amazing experience at USC,” said Simms. “My family and I had a chance to ask questions and obtain lots of information about USC’s athletics and academics. This weekend I got a chance to have several one on ones with coach Simmons and coach (Lincoln) Riley and I felt like I belonged…I feel as if I fit in with the USC family.

“I also had a chance to interact with coach Simmons and coach Riley’s families. I enjoyed interacting with and getting to know current members of the team. I enjoyed listening to the panel of guests speak about life after football. I obtained lots of valuable information from the retired football players.

“I enjoyed the campus tour and how interactive the coaching staff were. USC expressed the importance of developing me academically and athletically. USC and the alumni are big on relationships and supporting students. USC is historical and known for academic excellence and strong athletic programs. I love how USC encourages students to pursue their passion.”

5-Star USC QB commit Julian Lewis

We asked Simms if he had an opportunity to spend time with Julian Lewis on the official visit, and how significant it is that USC has a quarterback of his caliber committed?

“I talked with JuJu a lot during our visit,” Simms said. “JuJu is a great addition to USC and having a QB is important. A good QB is needed in order for the WR to thrive in coach Riley’s offense. USC got a good one!”

    2025 Commits (12)

USC currently has 12 verbal commits from the class of 2025 in Julian “JuJu” Lewis, Matai Tagoa’i, Romero Ison, Harry Dalton, Trestin Castro, Gus Cordova, Shamar Arnoux, Willi Wascher, Riley Wormley, Hayden Lowe, Corey Simms and Daune Morris. That list will grow significantly in the coming days barring any surprises. We’d be surprised if this total isn’t at 15 by week’s end.
