Taraji P. Henson Goes for Gold in Custom Balmain Dress on the BET Awards 2024 Red Carpet

The 2024 BET Awards featured a bevy of stars in fashionable threads hitting the red carpet event in Los Angeles on Sunday. Taraji P. Henson joined fellow A-list stars and the night’s nominees, making a grand entrance prior to her hosting duties for the evening. “The Color Purple” star glittered from head to toe in her designer look.

For the 2024 BET Awards, Henson fashioned a custom sleeveless dress courtesy of Balmain . The column gown featured an ornately designed combination of fringe, rhinestones and fetters. The straps of Henson’s dress were designed in a chainlink style, which was included throughout the bodice and skirt of the actress’ look.

Fringe detailing was woven horizontally between the chain links throughout the dress. A glittering rhinestone skirt and bodice could just be seen beneath the fringe and chain links of Henson’s Balmain gown.

Henson’s custom dress also featured a particular trend a number of celebs have fashioned, as of late. The bodice of the Oscar-nominated actress’ dress included a peekaboo bra detailing in black fabric, adding a stark color contrast to the gold of Henson’s gown.

Along with the glimmering dress from the luxury fashion label, the glittering effect continued throughout Henson’s look. The actress accessorized with jewelry pieces from Pharrell Williams’ Titan collection with Tiffany & Co. and completed her look with shoes by Betsey Johnson.

As for her glam, the actress’ sleek bob was coiffed to the side by Tym Wallace. Henson’s makeup, which featured a gold eye with bold lashes, was done by Saisha Beecham. Henson’s entire red carpet look was styled by Wayman Deon and Micah McDonald.

The BET Awards celebrate achievements in entertainment, honoring excellence in music, sports, television and movies. Taraji P. Henson will host the 2024 event, which will feature performances by Ice Spice, Tyla, GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Victoria Monét and more.
