Phillies, Yankees, Dodgers reportedly battling for popular trade prospect

Currently, in last place in the National League East, the Miami Marlins are ready for a rebuild.

Fortunately, relief pitcher Tanner Scott has become one of the most popular trade prospects across Major League Baseball.

According to Will Sammon, Patrick Mooney, and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic , the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, and Baltimore Orioles have all "expressed some level of interest" in the left-handed closer.

"Pair Scott with the Orioles’ Craig Kimbrel, Yankees’ Clay Holmes, or Dodgers’ Evan Phillips, and each of those clubs would become more formidable in the late innings. Ditto for the Phillies, who already boast multiple ninth-inning options, and could use Scott in tandem with lefty José Alvarado. Scott earned two saves against the Phillies over the weekend, both times pitching perfect innings."

While all of these teams are having strong showings this season, each one of them could use a bit more depth when it comes to relievers. Scott would be the perfect solution, especially since he has a 1.50 ERA and had a strong showing against the Phillies, earning two saves over the weekend while pitching perfect innings.

In the end, it's going to come down to who has the best offer. The Marlins are reportedly asking for a lot in return for Scott, and with all four interested teams aiming to become World Series Champions, Miami will likely get what they want.
