NBA Analyst Issues Serious Advice For Kawhi Leonard After Paul George Exit
By Ernest Leo Hernandez,

Just a few days after the 2024 NBA Free Agency opened up, Paul George finds himself on a divorce with the Los Angeles Clippers and teammate Kawhi Leonard. Both players teamed up with the Clippers back in 2019 with the hopes of winning the franchise' first championship but now had to part ways.
Paul George opted out of his player option with the Clippers on June 29 and decided to sign a four-year, $212 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. The nine-time NBA All-Star now teams up with former league MVP Joel Embiid and rising star Tyrese Maxey to form the league's new 'Big 3'.
On the other hand, Kawhi Leonard finds his team star-depleted after George's departure. James Harden has decided to return and run it again with the Clippers, while Russell Westbrook is expected to be traded soon.
The Clippers tried to fill in the void by signing Derrick Jones Jr. and Nic Batum, but both players are expected to have a hard time filling the void that George left.
At 33 years old, Leonard has won two championships—one with the San Antonio Spurs and the other during his one-year stint with the Toronto Raptors. However, he has not given an illusive title to the Clippers and the six-foot-seven swingman is at the tail end of his career.
Looking at this situation, ESPN analyst and former NBA player Kendrick Perkins weighed in on Leonard's situation and advised the six-time NBA All-Star to find a better situation.
"Even if they had Paul George, they weren't gonna be in contention, and if I were Kawhi Leonard, I would ask to get out of there," said Perkins in the ESPN's NBA Today. "He knows what a championship team looks like, and dammit, that's not one of them."
Leonard enters the 2024–25 NBA season with three years and $152 million left on his contract. He will be 35 years old once the deal is done.
