Ice Cube's Son Has Theory Why Lakers Are Struggling In Free Agency

The Los Angeles Lakers have been struggling to acquire key pieces to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis entering the 2024–25 season, but this team had a bad start, missing key free agents like Klay Thompson.

Since winning the 2020 NBA championship, the Lakers have struggled to get back to their winning form, leading to their first round exit against the Denver Nuggets in the 2024 NBA playoffs.

In an effort to find the right supporting cast, James has been reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski to have made the call to Thompson, hoping to see the shooter suit up for the Lakers in the upcoming season.

However, Thompson has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks by the Golden State Warriors, signing a three-year contract worth $50 million to team up with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

The Lakers have one of the biggest fanbases in the NBA and many are speculating that there is an agenda to not help the basketball franchise get back into title contention.

Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson, took it to X, replying to James' high school teammate to air out his theory that the league doesn't want the Lakers to succeed.

"West coast teams don't want Lakers successful," posts Jackson. "East Coast teams don't want Bron successful."

It has been just two days since NBA free agency began, but the Lakers options for getting the players they wanted have been trimmed down. DeMar DeRozan, Brook Lopez and Buddy Heild are still without an NBA team, but the Lakers have been slow in improving their squad compared to other league franchises.
