The Los Angeles Lakers may have failed to make any outside free agent signings or trades so far this offseason, but they have made a couple of moves in order to secure some of their young prospects.

On Sunday, they got guard Max Christie to agree to a four-year, $32 million contract extension. Christie, 21, has been one of the Lakers’ most promising young players over the last two years, and his development may be emphasized more this coming season than it was during the 2023-24 campaign.

On Tuesday, Shams Charania posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, will be signing a multiyear deal with the Lakers.

The younger James will be on the Lakers’ summer league roster, and there will undoubtedly be many eyeballs on him over the next few weeks, both in person and on television, as he gives some first glimpses into his pro potential.
