LeBron James has re-signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-year deal worth $104 million, ESPN reported Wednesday . James' deal has a player option for the 2025-26 season and a no-trade clause.

James will play with his oldest son, Bronny James , whom the Lakers drafted with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft last month.

LeBron James opted out of his player option worth $51.4 million earlier this month. The new deal is the maximum he could get from the Lakers. James could still take a slight pay cut for the upcoming season. The Lakers and James' agent, Rich Paul, are negotiating whether to take a $1 million pay cut to help the team stay below the second apron and help with roster flexibility, ESPN reported .

The 39-year-old James averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds per game with L.A. last season. He was reportedly not involved in L.A.'s coaching search, and spoke to new Lakers head coach JJ Redick only after the deal was completed.
