The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to terms with first-round NBA draft pick Dalton Knecht. The rookie out of Tennessee will sign a four-year, $18.4 million deal after being selected with the No. 17 pick, per Spotrac.

Knecht is guaranteed $7.8 million of that contract at signing.

The average annual salary for the contract is $4.6 million, but Knecht will make $3.8 million as a rookie in 2024-25, then $4.01 million in 2025-26. The third and fourth years of the deal will be team options, with Knecht set to make $4.2 million in 2026-27 and $6.4 million in 2027-28.

After two seasons at Northern Colorado, Knecht transferred to Tennessee in 2023, where he averaged 21 points and five rebounds per game for the Volunteers. He was expected to be a top-10 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, but he fell to the Lakers at No. 17 where he will now play alongside LeBron and Bronny James and compete for a big spot in the rotation as a rookie.
